This is a quick point to consider:
Why is it that we have subjected Moderna to the scrutiny of the public for the 3 days, and we have not released Pfizer’s materials that are being discussed in the same meeting?
What’s so special about Pfizer?
Perhaps the FDA needs to take a few pointers from parenting:
Yes I am judging the book by its cover because it is illustrative of my point, haven’t read this one and cant say anything else about it.
To the FDA: don’t even start with the whole: “The decision to withhold the meeting materials that pertain to Pfizer from the public is because Pfizer is only presenting on the 15th so you can release the materials on the 13th.” Yall did not set up 2 separate meetings. You set up the comments on the federal registrar to end at 11:59pm ET on the 13th based on a meeting on the 14th so we will have less than a day to review the data package and comment on the Pfizer documents for 6 month through 4 year olds, but a whole bunch of us have all been picking through Moderna’s document since Friday Morning.
No Fair!
I would not be surprised if when the Pfizer data for 6month old to 4 year olds is released, it makes Moderna’s data package look really really good.
But it is also possible that Pfizer’s will look way better than Moderna’s and Moderna is kind of the scape goat in this enterprise, getting the brunt of our weekend angst.
Either way you cut the pie to me it looks like the FDA has been preferential to Pfizer in withholding the June 14th and 15th FDA VRBPAC meeting materials from the public that pertain to the proposed expansion of age for Emergency Use Authorization .
Remember how annoyed I was that VRBPAC didnt get me the materials to review in a timely manner for me to make meaningful public comment so I made a public comment about that?
This is worse.
It’s no fair to Moderna, it’s no fair to you and me, it’s no fair to the parents of the world, and it’s really no fair to the babies that are likely going to be exposed to the risks associated with the Pfizer product.
Thanks for subscribing and sharing.
